MLA Goat Curry

Ingredients

  • 1 pound goat pieces, bone-in

  • 2 tablespoons ground cumin

  • 3 dried red chillies, sliced

  • 2 large green chillies, sliced

  • 2 tablespoons mustard seeds

  • 2 large onions, chopped

  • 5 cloves garlic, crushed

  • 1 - 2 tablespoons curry powder or garam masala

  • 2 tablespoons turmeric

  • 2 cinnamon sticks

  • Fresh cilantro, chopped

  • 14 ounces coconut cream

  • 1 cup water

  • Oil

  • Salt

Method

  1. Cook cumin, red and green chillies, mustard seeds, onions and garlic in oil over low heat. Cook until fragrant, approximately 10 minutes.

  2. Add goatmeat, curry powder, turmeric, salt, cinnamon and water. Bring to simmer, cover and cook approximately 1 hour on low heat.

  3. Add coconut cream, chopped cilantro and season to taste. Serve with steamed rice and pappadums.
